Christiana Childrens Homes

In 1983 S Rajasekhara Babu founded the first children's home in Bapatla, subsequently adding a second in Nidamarru (locations shown opposite).
The homes are now owned by Christiana Children's Homes, with a board of trustees of local men and women. Babu continues as Secretary to the board and advises on many aspects of its direction.
Day-to-day operation is led by Mrs Rachel Rani, with administrative support led my Mr Ananda Rao, and a team of around 15 house parents, cooks, laundry and support staff like an accountant and drivers.
Conrad & Norbert Academy
The Conrad & Norbert Academy owns and operates the Elizabeth Barrie High School and the SM ITI trade training centre. C&NA has a board of trustees of local men and women. Some members of the board are also members of the CCH board.

EBHS
EBHS is certified by the Andhra Pradesh state government to teach and present students for state examinations in English Medium. With the exception of Hindi and Telugu, all subjects are taught in English. This demands specially qualified teachers, not just in their facility with English, but their ability to adopt contemporary teaching styles which tends to go with the EM curriculum. The teaching staff of EBHS number about 20.

SM ITI
In the same building as the school is the trade training centre the SM ITI. Courses are provided to become a mechanical fitter, diesel mechanic, electrician or civil draughtsman, offering excellent prospects of securing a good job on completion. It is self-sufficient from student fees. Student numbers are limited by the health & safety requirements of the machines used.
